17-year-old dies after falling from building in Sydney

A teenager fell from a five-storey building in inner Sydney and died despite paramedic treatment.

A 17-year-old boy died after falling from a building on Elizabeth St in Surry Hills about 9pm on Tuesday. The 17-year-old was with two friends when the fall occurred.

Paramedics treated him at the scene but he could not be revived. Police have not yet confirmed whether the boy was on a ledge or at a window when he fell.

Investigators are looking into why the teenagers were at the site and whether the death was a case of misadventure. Inquiries are continuing.
