Harry Sheezel, 21, wins third Syd Barker Medal as North Melbourne's best
North Melbourne's Harry Sheezel, still only 21, has claimed his third Syd Barker Medal, joining just ten players in the club's history.
Harry Sheezel defeated Luke Davies-Uniacke by just two votes to win North Melbourne's best-and-fairest award for the third time. At only 21 years old, the Kangaroos star now belongs to an elite group of only ten players to claim three Syd Barker Medals.
Sheezel recorded career highs across every measure: 30.4 disposals per game, 6.5 marks, 4.9 tackles, 4.5 clearances, and 7.2 score involvements. Sheezel achieved this despite missing the final game with injury.
Former captains Wayne Carey, David Dench, and Noel Teasdale are the only players ahead of him with four medals. Brent Harvey holds the all-time record with five.
Sheezel also won the Glenn Archer Shinboner of the Year award and the fan-voted Mazda BT-50 Give It Heaps Award on the night.
