Canberra Olympic Pool opens for summer with free entertainment
Free open days this weekend feature DJ, barbecue, face painting and lifeguard demos.
Canberra Olympic Pool in Civic opens its outdoor pool and dive tower this Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Members enter free; non-members pay casual fees.
A DJ, free barbecue, face painting and an inflatable are all part of the weekend events. Lifeguard rescue shows run at noon, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.
A volleyball competition is also on. The ACT government invested more than $400,000 over winter.
The money went into upgrades at three seasonal pools, including new barbecues, repainting and better lifeguard facilities.
