Ben King joins Hawthorn on seven-year deal
Ben King signed with Hawthorn on a seven-year contract worth more than $9 million, running to the end of 2034.
Gold Coast's all-time leading goalkicker and restricted free agent chose Hawthorn after the Suns declined to match the offer. Gold Coast receives pick seven as compensation.
King has kicked 315 goals for the Suns, including 60 this year and a career-best 71 in 2025. The 26-year-old has placed in the Coleman Medal top five for three straight seasons.
Hawthorn recruiting boss Mark McKenzie said King joins the Hawks at peak powers and will enhance their forward line alongside Jack Gunston and Mitch Lewis. Gold Coast thanked King for his eight years of service.
