Man arrested after alleged cemetery assault on former partner
A 27-year-old was arrested after allegedly assaulting his former partner and driving dangerously before the police pursuit ended.
On 27 September, a man allegedly approached his former partner at a Canberra cemetery and assaulted her. The man kicked her and tried to drag her by her hair toward his vehicle.
Police arrived and the man fled in a black Mazda. The man drove dangerously through Belconnen and Yarralumla before the pursuit ended.
Two days later, police in Casey spotted the Mazda with stolen registration plates. The man was found in a nearby backyard and arrested.
The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant and subject to parole conditions.
