MAC yapang marks 25 years with art and Aboriginal heritage celebration
Lake Macquarie art space marks 25 years with festivals celebrating sculpture and Aboriginal heritage.
MAC yapang on Lake Macquarie's western shore hosts an all-day festival Saturday, November 14, marking 25 years of the gallery and 30 years of its sculpture park. The venue had a $2.3 million update in 2019.
Yapang means pathway or journey. Site work in 2025 found midden areas and stone tools.
The festival includes a smoking ceremony, tours, family events, and a Pass The Art Parcel raffle with artworks worth $60 to $500.
