Election promise: $2.75m for Chiltern netball pavilion
Liberal candidate pledged $2.75 million to build separate facilities for netballers who currently share cramped spaces with footballers.
Chiltern Football Netball Club's netballers are crammed into a change room less than half the size of the men's facilities. Home and away teams share one or two working showers and even trainers' rooms with senior footballers.
Liberal candidate Steve Martin announced the funding promise at the club on Wednesday. The new pavilion would include two dedicated change rooms, four showers, toilets, a first-aid room and a trainers' room.
Club co-president Jarrod O'Neill said the investment would boost female participation. The 50-year-old clubrooms suffer from mould, damp and access issues.
