Jimmy Barnes records Rose Tattoo cover as tribute to Angry Anderson
Jimmy Barnes released a cover of Rose Tattoo's song as a tribute to Angry Anderson after the rock frontman's death.
Jimmy Barnes released a cover of Rose Tattoo's "Rock 'n' Roll is King" as a tribute to Angry Anderson, the legendary Australian rock frontman who died on September 21. Barnes recorded the track for his album "Defiant" but finished it too late to include on the record.
Barnes had planned to play it for Anderson but their touring schedules never aligned. Barnes said: "It was one of those things that I regretted: that I didn't get a chance to play it to him."
Anderson, 79, died a month after suffering cardiac arrest while touring with Rose Tattoo in Germany. The Rose Tattoo singer left behind classics including "We Can't Be Beaten", "Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw" and "Bad Boy For Love".
Barnes will headline the Red Hot Summer Tour next year, a lineup that will include Birds of Tokyo and Eskimo Joe.
