Charlestown wins Tom Locker Cup; first 50-over title since 2009-10

Charlestown claimed their first 50-over title since 2009-10, beating Toronto by eight wickets.

Charlestown defeated last season's wooden spooners Toronto by eight wickets in a rain-delayed final at No.1 Sportsground on Sunday. Toronto set 9-183 in the first innings, with UK import Connor Haddow scoring 49 not out.

Rain delays brought the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method into play, revising Charlestown's target to 139. The Magpies chased it down with 17 balls remaining, two wickets down.

Kel Wilson's aggressive 28 from just 12 balls proved vital, alongside opener Daniel Arms' unbeaten 42. Josh Claridge added 31 and Mitchell Lole 26.

Lole, named player of the final, also took 3-43 with the ball.
