Bombers claim first win by rallying from 25-point deficit
Essendon defeated Greater Western Sydney 43-35 in their first AFLW win, coming from behind early in the third term.
The Bombers trailed by 25 points early in the third term but stormed back to beat the Giants by eight points at Henson Park on Saturday. Maddy Prespakis drove the comeback with a game-high 35 disposals and 580 metres gained.
Essendon's accuracy proved decisive: they converted 26 per cent of their forward entries, while GWS managed just 10 per cent. In the second half, the Bombers booted 5.3 while holding GWS to just a single behind.
Emily Gough added two goals for Essendon.
