NTFA Premier League growing to 10 teams by 2028
The NTFA Premier League will expand to ten teams in 2028.
The NTFA has confirmed the expansion plan for its top-flight football competition. Bridgenorth and Old Launcestonians will join St Pats and Old Scotch as newcomers to the league in 2028.
The six existing teams are Deloraine, Launceston, Longford, North Launceston, Scottsdale and South Launceston. Association president Peter Gutwein said both new clubs already have four teams operating and are committed to sustainable programs.
All Premier League teams must field sides in senior men's, senior women's, reserves and under-18.5s competitions. No divisional changes will be made for 2027.
The 12 remaining clubs will be consulted on whether to run one or two separate competitions in the lower divisions.
