Michael Douglas questions Cher's 1988 Oscar win on live TV

Michael Douglas said Glenn Close should have won the 1988 best actress Oscar, not Cher, for Moonstruck.

Michael Douglas revived a decades-old awards-night grudge on a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show. Douglas, who won best actor that year for Wall Street, said Close "should have won" the 1988 best actress Oscar instead of Cher, who took home the prize for Moonstruck.

Douglas noted Close was a fourth-time nominee at the time. When Norton mentioned Cher won, Douglas responded: "I know, that's what we all said."

Glenn Close, sitting alongside Douglas, interjected: "Michael, be kind," drawing laughs from the studio. Cher's representative responded by telling Entertainment Weekly: "Cher adores Michael Douglas."

Moonstruck won three Oscars that year, while Fatal Attraction won none despite six nominations.
