Wealthy brothers get 30 years for decade-long trafficking scheme
Three brothers convicted of exploiting wealth and luxury properties to drug, rape and traffic at least 70 women over two decades.
Twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, and their brother Tal, 40, were each sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday for sex trafficking. A Manhattan court heard from 11 accusers who described how the assaults destroyed their lives.
Prosecutors say the brothers used their wealth and luxury homes in the Hamptons and Aspen to lure at least 70 women over two decades. During sentencing, the brothers denied the charges.
Oren claimed they came of age during hook-up culture and now regret their past behaviour. However, all three were convicted in March after a trial where none testified.
