LIV Golf needs 25 signed players by month's end to survive DP crackdown
LIV Golf must sign 25 players by October 25 to launch LIV 2.0 as the DP Tour blocks anyone playing LIV.
LIV Golf is racing to save itself. The bankrupt organisation must secure 25 signed players by October 25 to launch "LIV 2.0," its restructured league.
High-profile players like Patrick Reed are moving back to traditional tours, intensifying the challenge. The DP World Tour said this week it will refuse membership to anyone playing LIV next season.
LIV's attorney Rob Fitzgerald called this a "clear attempt to interfere" with restructuring. Judge Michael B. Kaplan said the comments "raise concerns."
Rory McIlroy said the DP Tour is "well within their rights" to restrict membership. McIlroy also said he would vote to welcome LIV defectors back to the PGA Tour, signalling traditional circuits may open doors.
