Mick Walker marks 400 games with Yackandandah in almost three decades
44-year-old bowler reaches his 400th first-grade game for Yackandandah, the only club he has played for since debuting at 15.
Mick Walker played his 400th first-grade game for Yackandandah last Saturday. The 44-year-old started at 15 and never left, making him a life member and club cornerstone.
Walker is a 13-time club champion, seven-time premiership player, and fierce competitor, so much so that opponents allegedly lose 90 per cent of games when they antagonise him. Walker's children now play alongside him: daughter Ava in first grade, son Mason returning from overseas.
Walker said of the club: "It's part of my family. I've made lifelong friends."
His teammates describe him as the lifeblood of Yackandandah cricket.
