Melbourne claim delisted Ryan in final Deadline Day move
The 21-year-old defender was delisted by Hawthorn then traded to the Demons for pick 107.
Defender Bodie Ryan has been traded from Hawthorn to Melbourne in the dying seconds of the trade period. The 21-year-old was delisted by the Hawks last month but Melbourne claimed him for just pick 107.
Ryan played five AFL games for Hawthorn in 2026 after being drafted with pick 46 in the 2023 draft. Patrick Retschko's move last year mirrors Ryan's path, when Geelong delisted him and Richmond then traded for him.
Melbourne's late acquisition provides Ryan with a fresh opportunity to develop after limited game time.
