MKR smashes ratings, beating The Block with 2 million viewers

Monday's episode drew 2.02 million viewers and year-on-year numbers jumped 34 per cent.

My Kitchen Rules is back on top. This week the Seven cooking show drew its biggest audience since 2019, knocking The Block off its perch and proving the show still grips Australians.

Monday night featured contestants Jane and Shane crashing spectacularly with a pigeon dish complete with intact claw. The episode reached 2.02 million viewers and topped its time slot.

Viewership surged 34 per cent year-on-year, and the show scored its highest streaming audience on record. Younger viewers are tuning in at record rates too, with under-18s up 57 per cent.

Producers stepped back from the manufactured drama and casting for conflict that made the show stale, instead returning to simple food and friendly rivalry. The new judging panel of Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge replaced Pete Evans, while fresh contestants like Alisha and Deanne gave the show the characters viewers wanted to watch.
