Ballina woman wins $100 million Powerball jackpot

A Ballina woman became Australia's third-largest lottery winner after matching all seven numbers and the Powerball.

The woman from the NSW Northern Rivers town bought her entry online and was the only Australian to hit division one on Thursday night. The Ballina woman paid just $18.90 for a 12-game QuickPick ticket.

The Ballina woman told The Lott she credits the win to her recently deceased family member, saying she saw signs all day, things moving, cans shifting, bags waving in the wind. The Ballina woman plans to pay off her mortgage and help family members.

Her celebration plans are simple: breakfast in bed tomorrow with scrambled eggs and bacon.
