Perth retiree wins $200,000 lotto scratch ticket, eight years after $10m jackpot
A Perth retiree has won $200,000 on a Scratch'N'Win ticket from the same newsagency where she won a $10 million Oz Lotto jackpot in 2018.
The woman, from Perth's eastern suburbs, was scratching a ticket with her son when she realised she had won $200,000. The woman was so stunned she thought she had miscounted the zeros.
The woman's two major wins came from a Midland newsagency, eight years apart. The chances of winning a major lotto prize twice in a lifetime are about 24 trillion to one.
Instead of buying homes or quitting work, which she already did with her 2018 win, the retiree said she plans to use this prize for family investments. A Lotterywest spokesperson said it was heartwarming that the woman had stayed loyal to her local retailer despite her life-changing first win.
Twin brothers from Albany also won their second major jackpot in 18 months earlier this year.

Why it mattersThe extraordinary odds highlight how rare it is for someone to win a major lottery prize twice, making this one of Australia's most improbable luck stories.
AustraliaThe win shows that WA's Lotterywest and its retailers remain drivers of life-changing prizes for ordinary Australians, and that a single store can be the source of multiple major jackpots.
