Five suspended Swans players apologise to club after Pullman Hotel scandal
Five Sydney Swans players returned to their club to apologise to teammates and staff after being suspended for breaching club standards.
The five Sydney Swans players at the centre of the Pullman Hotel scandal returned to their club on Wednesday for an emotional apology meeting. Each player spoke to the entire squad, men's and women's teams, and staff.
Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice were suspended for breaching club standards following a late-night incident in Melbourne on August 17. Heeney, speaking for the group, said he was grateful the club gave them time to address everyone.
The players were reported to be extremely remorseful for the position their actions put the club in. They have missed the final home-and-away match, the qualifying final win over Brisbane, and the preliminary final loss to Fremantle.
They won't return to training until November.
