Timber load crashes through truck windscreen at Adelaide intersection
Loosely secured timber planks crashed through a truck windscreen at Dry Creek, but the driver escaped injury.
A flat-bed truck carrying timber stopped at traffic lights on Grand Junction Road near Adelaide on Thursday around 8:30am. Seconds later, the load shifted forward and crashed through the truck's windscreen and cab.
Several timber planks scattered across the intersection where Grand Junction Road meets Churchill Road, creating a serious hazard. The driver, a 57-year-old from Craigmore, and other road users escaped serious injury.
Police say the truck was travelling east when the load broke free. The driver was reported for a severe load restraint breach and will face court later.
