Two swimmers in trouble at Marley Beach; one rescued, one found dead

A 50-year-old man died at Marley Beach in Sydney on Thursday; a 20-year-old was rescued.

Emergency services were called to Marley Beach in Sydney's south about 12.50pm Thursday after two swimmers got into trouble in the water. A 20-year-old man was found when waves washed him back to shore.

Rescue crews pulled him from the water and he was winched out by the Toll Rescue Helicopter Service, taken to St George Hospital in stable condition. Officers from the Marine Area Command later found the body of a 50-year-old man in the water.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
