UK police re-arrest two men over suspected Iranian intelligence links at RAF
UK counter-terrorism police arrested again two men suspected of helping Iranian intelligence at RAF Fairford.
Counter Terrorism Policing arrested again a 24-year-old British citizen and a 25-year-old UK-Iranian dual citizen. They are part of an investigation into activity at RAF Fairford in southwest England last month.
The first man was arrested outside the base on September 27. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor heads National Counter Terrorism Policing.
He said the investigation is still active. Evidence gathering continues.
Police believe it is very likely that Iranian state involvement was part of the incident. The RAF base has been used by US bombers to carry out operations.
Officials said they would share more details as the investigation moves forward.
