Heidi Woodley's four-goal haul lifts Bulldogs past Power
Heidi Woodley kicked four goals for the first time in her career as Western Bulldogs defeated Port Adelaide 10.2 (62) to 8.1 (49) in AFLW Round 7.
Heidi Woodley fired a career-high four goals to lead the Western Bulldogs to a 13-point win over Port Adelaide at Whitten Oval on Friday. The 14-goal second half was frantic, with both teams trading blows, but the Bulldogs' superior accuracy won the day: they converted 28 per cent of entries into goals, while the Power managed just 21 per cent.
The Bulldogs improved their record to 5-2, cementing a top-eight spot. Port Adelaide won the inside-50 count and the clearance battle but could not translate that pressure into scoreboard success.
Woodley was not alone in her brilliance: teammate Isabelle Pritchard collected 23 disposals, while Port's Matilda Scholz was outstanding in the ruck with 22 disposals and 40 hitouts.
