On Monday, he announced his move to Today. The news was accidentally leaked by his own son at daycare.
Anstey will present Today weather from Monday to Wednesday. He will co-host Weekend Today with Alison Piotrowski and Lizzie Pearl on Saturday and Sunday.
The change means he drops to a five-day week. He said he wanted this shift after five years of demanding radio hours.
He will relocate to Sydney with his wife and children in the new year.
