Tommy Robinson left voicemail threatening journalists
Robinson left a threatening voicemail for journalists claiming he had located them.
British activist Tommy Robinson left a threatening voicemail for Daily Mail editor Ted Verity, a London court heard this week. The message said "If it's legitimate journalism then expect me to come knocking" and "I've already located every one of you."
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is on trial for harassing journalists Jacob Dirnhuber and Andrew Young. Jacob Dirnhuber feared being "intercepted" by Robinson's supporters.
Andrew Young feared attacks by Robinson's followers after Robinson posted pictures of him outside his house on social media. A third Daily Mail journalist said his family had to leave their home through a neighbour's house out of fear.
Robinson has denied the charges.

Why it mattersThe case tests whether targeting journalists with threats counts as criminal harassment. It also tests if naming where they live is a crime. The outcome could set a precedent for online intimidation.
AustraliaNo direct Australian effect yet; Australian courts may face similar cases as online harassment of journalists becomes more common.
