Man fined for lying beside fridge hanging out of moving car
A man was fined for lying beside a fridge protruding from a moving car; the driver was also fined.
Police spotted a vehicle travelling along Youngs Crossing Rd in Joyner with its rear door partially open and a fridge with a man's legs sticking out. A 46-year-old man was allegedly lying next to the appliance as the car moved.
The man was fined $322 for travelling in an unsafe part of the vehicle and $1295 with four demerit points for not wearing a seatbelt. The 40-year-old female driver was fined $690 and lost three demerit points for running a red light.
Police said unsecured cargo poses serious risks to the driver, passengers and other road users.
