Kia EV5 gets power boost ahead of mid-2027 Australian arrival

Kia's popular EV5 electric SUV gains 15-19kW of power in its next update arriving mid-2027.

Kia's EV5 electric SUV is returning to Australia next year with a significant power upgrade. The mid-life facelift pushes single-motor front-wheel-drive versions to 175kW (up 15kW) and dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions to 249kW (up 19kW).

The two battery options remain: a 64.2kWh standard and an 88.1kWh long-range pack. Kia Australia is also retuning the suspension for local conditions.

Weight increases slightly (21-52kg depending on the model), and the base Standard Range model gains towing capacity from 300kg to 750kg. Styling updates are subtle, with a refreshed front air dam design and bumper treatment.
