Aaron Seton leads Bathurst 1000 as race begins on hottest day of weekend
Aaron Seton led the opening 23 laps of the Bathurst 1000 before main driver Zach Bates, fastest in qualifying, took the wheel.
Aaron Seton has made a dominant start to the Bathurst 1000, leading from pole position as co-drivers dominated the opening laps on the hottest day of the weekend. Seton held the lead through the first stint before main driver Zach Bates, who was fastest in qualifying and the shootout, got behind the wheel.
Todd Hazelwood was applying pressure for the lead late in the co-driver phase. An early collision at The Cutting removed two cars from contention.
It looks like tyre degradation could be a major factor today.
