Five dead in apparent murder-suicide in rural Georgia
Police say five people died in an apparent murder-suicide. It happened at a home near Douglas, Georgia on Friday.
Five people died in a suspected murder-suicide at a family home. It was on the outskirts of Douglas, a rural city about 320 kilometres southeast of Atlanta.
Police say the victims and the gunman were adult family members living in the same house. Officers arrived after 11pm when one victim called emergency services.
She died after being taken to hospital. An earlier call came from the wife.
She had called police to complain about her husband smoking inside the home. Douglas Police Chief Brannen Pruette said investigators believe this was a family matter.
