Dick Johnson and Walkinshaw teams repair crash damage until 2am for Bathurst
Two Supercars teams worked until 2am repairing damage from practice crashes, with rival engineers helping to get both cars ready.
Dick Johnson Racing and Walkinshaw TWG Racing crews worked through the night to repair their damaged entries for the Bathurst 1000, finishing around 2am. Ryan Wood crashed into the Forrest's Elbow barrier and D'Alberto ran wide at The Dipper during Friday's early practice, both badly damaging their cars.
The teams skipped Friday qualifying to focus on repairs, meaning both will start tomorrow's Great Race from the back of the grid. Triple Eight Racing and Tickford Racing stepped in to help with repairs.
Jason Briggs from Triple Eight assisted Dick Johnson, and Tickford donated some steering rack spares to Walkinshaw. Wood's team essentially rebuilt an entire car, working some 13 hours after the crash.
Walkinshaw also brought forward planned engine changes on another entry, adding to their workload.
