Ducks on track cause crash between TV commentators at Bathurst

James Courtney and Mark Winterbottom collided during practice when Winterbottom slowed for ducks crossing Conrod Straight.

Two experienced co-drivers who both work as Supercars commentators crashed into each other during final practice for the Bathurst 1000. Mark Winterbottom was driving Cameron Waters' car when he spotted yellow flags waving for a family of ducks on the track.

Winterbottom backed off and slowed. James Courtney, in the car behind, didn't see the yellow flags and hit him at full speed.

Both cars took heavy damage, hurting their teams' final preparations. The drivers laughed it off afterward, with Winterbottom saying "double waved yellow" and Courtney admitting it was "very surprising".

Officials cleared the ducks from the circuit safely before racing resumed.
