Russian air strikes kill at least 7 in Ukraine residential areas
Five Russian guided bombs hit residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia on Saturday, killing at least seven people and wounding ten others.
Russian forces dropped five guided aerial bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia early Saturday. The strikes hit two buildings and killed at least seven people.
Ukrainian national police reported the strikes targeted residential neighbourhoods in the city. At least ten other people were wounded.
Rescue workers continued searching the rubble for more survivors. The attacks came a day after US President Donald Trump announced a deal to buy more than 300,000 tons of diesel from Russia.
Trump said he struck the agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the diesel deal would prolong the war.
It would allow Russia to kill more people and wage war longer. Russia and Ukraine have been locked in aerial warfare for more than four and a half years since Russia's full-scale invasion.
Ukraine is struggling to counter escalating bombardments.
