Former student returns to work at his childhood school

Jarryd Breedin, who started at Glenroy in 1997, now works there as a support officer while completing a teaching degree.

Jarryd Breedin left Glenroy Public School in Albury as a student years ago. Now he's back, working as a support officer while studying to become a teacher at Swinburne University.

Jarryd Breedin applied to about five schools for work. Glenroy was the only one that replied, on the same day.

"It was weird coming back because there were a few changes and you have all these memories," he said. This week the school celebrates its 50th anniversary with an open day on Friday and a dinner on Saturday.

Principal Sean Scott will help bury a time capsule at the open day, to sit alongside one from the school's 40th anniversary, both to be opened at the 75th.
