Watson can't remove coach's memento ring after grand final
Robinson gave Watson his premiership ring, but it got stuck on his finger.
Connor Watson missed Sydney Roosters' grand final win against Newcastle due to a head injury within the 11-day concussion standdown period. Coach Trent Robinson gave Watson his own premiership ring as a parting gift, inscribed with 'coach'.
Watson put it on in the changerooms after the match but couldn't get it off. The jeweller who makes the rings had to cut it from Watson's hand.
Watson joked he'd tell his grandkids he 'coached' the Roosters, honouring Robinson's faith in him since giving him his debut in 2016.
