Stolen car hits 200km/hr on rims during Melbourne police chase
Car with punctured tyres reached 200km/hr during an extended police pursuit.
A man was arrested after a high-speed chase through Melbourne suburbs overnight. Police spotted an allegedly stolen Holden Commodore on Huntingdale Road in Chadstone at 12:50am with false number plates.
Officers tried to intercept the car with road spikes, but the driver sped past them. Despite punctured tyres, the car continued on three rims and reached speeds of up to 200km/hr.
Sparks streamed behind the vehicle as visible in police helicopter footage. The driver veered onto the wrong side of the road while fleeing.
Officers arrested him after he jumped fences in Springvale.
