Mudhoney returns to Newcastle for first Australian show in over a decade
Mudhoney plays King Street Bandroom in Newcastle on October 23, with a second Saints reunion tour starting in January 2027.
Mudhoney frontman Mark Arm will bring the grunge pioneers back to Newcastle this week after more than a decade away. The King Street Bandroom show on October 23 continues a touring legacy that began in 1990.
In 2024, Arm fronted a reunion of Brisbane proto-punk legends The Saints with guitarist Ed Kuepper, drummer Ivor Hay, and The Birthday Party founder Mick Harvey. The reception sparked a second Saints tour starting in January 2027, bringing Arm back to King Street.
Mark Arm is now manager of Sub Pop, the Seattle label that launched Mudhoney and helped spark the worldwide grunge boom.
