Dustin Martin confirmed to play for Albury in 2027
Three-time premiership player and 2017 Brownlow medallist Dustin Martin will play for Albury in the 2027 season.
Dustin Martin, regarded as arguably the greatest finals player in AFL history, has confirmed he will play for Albury next year. The 35-year-old retired from Richmond in August 2024 after 302 games and three Norm Smith Medals.
Albury co-coach Anthony Miles, who played with Martin at Richmond, says Martin has agreed to play at least one early game. Miles said Martin wanted to stay fit and missed playing footy.
He valued the club connection. The move is expected to draw large crowds to Albury Sportsground.
It should also boost interest in the Ovens and Murray league, which clubs say is struggling to attract spectators.
