Critical Resources starts fieldwork at Ontario lithium project
Critical Resources has sent a field crew to map rock formations and collect samples at a 1000-hectare Ontario site for lithium-bearing pegmatites.
Critical Resources has sent a field crew to Vermillion Bay in Ontario to map rock formations and collect samples. The crew is looking for lithium-bearing pegmatites, the LCT type, which have not yet been found at the 1000-hectare site.
The fieldwork is expected to take two weeks. Ontario's government is backing junior exploration in the region.
It recently set aside C$30 million to support grassroots work. Critical already has a major lithium resource just 70 kilometres away at Mavis Lake.
This resource contains eight million tonnes grading 1.07 per cent lithium oxide. Competitors like Rock Tech Lithium are also actively exploring nearby.
This shows strong regional interest in finding new lithium deposits.
