Chris Lynn cleared to play Big Bash after cocaine ban
Former Australian T20 star Chris Lynn served a one-month suspension after testing positive for cocaine in July.
Chris Lynn, the Big Bash League's all-time leading run-scorer with 4,133 runs, has served his ban. Lynn is now eligible to play this summer for the Melbourne Renegades.
The 36-year-old tested positive during an English county match in July while playing for Northampton. Chris Lynn confirmed he used cocaine on July 15 and 16.
Lynn received a one-month suspension from July 31 to August 30. The Cricket Regulator noted the use was out of competition and unrelated to playing performance.
His commitment to a substance abuse treatment program reduced the initial three-month ban to one month. In October, the regulator withdrew the charge after determining the cocaine level in his system fell below the threshold for charges under World Anti-Doping rules.
