Iran suspected in plot targeting US bombers at British base

A sixth suspect was arrested in an alleged terror plot at RAF Fairford, a US-run military base in England. The suspect was released on bail.
The 25-year-old dual UK-Iranian national was held on suspicion of planning terrorist acts. Five other British nationals in their mid-20s were arrested earlier and also released on bail.
Three suspicious vans were spotted near the base last weekend. This triggered evacuations of nearby residents and a response from armed police and bomb experts.
UK counter-terrorism police said the investigation is hugely complex. They are examining all possibilities, including possible foreign state involvement.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there are strong signs Iran played a part. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed his country warned Britain about the Iranian-sponsored attack.
