Powerball soars to $100 million, biggest prize in over a year

Powerball has reached $100 million for the first time since June 2025 after Thursday's $60 million draw went unclaimed.

Australia's Powerball lottery will offer $100 million next week, the biggest prize in more than a year. No one won Thursday's $60 million draw, allowing the jackpot to climb.

The Lott, which organises the game, expects as many as half of Australian adults to enter the draw, making this the country's third-largest lottery prize ever. Last time Powerball hit $100 million in June 2025, a Sydney winner sparked a months-long search.

The Lott is yet to confirm if the winner remains unidentified. Matt Hart, The Lott's spokesperson, noted that wins had been steady enough to prevent the jackpot climbing higher until now.

When the last $100 million draw occurred, 8,315 tickets sold in a single minute at peak time on the day.
