Putin agrees to restart Ukraine peace talks in November
Putin has agreed to resume US-mediated negotiations with Ukraine as soon as early November.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met US envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg and committed to restart peace talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The three-way negotiations are planned for early November, with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy backing the proposal.
Putin's foreign affairs adviser said the talks would focus on building a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the conflict ends. The last US-mediated peace talks took place in February before the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran.
Meanwhile, Russian attacks killed at least three people in Kyiv and two near Kharkiv, while energy facilities were targeted across multiple Ukrainian cities.
