St Kilda chases Wanganeen-Milera and Hall to stay at the club

St Kilda is prioritising contract talks with Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and Max Hall after finishing 11th and missing the finals.

St Kilda's football boss Lenny Hayes has flagged that keeping two young star players is now a top priority. The trade period is closed.

Contract talks lie ahead. Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera finished fourth in the club's best-and-fairest voting this year.

Max Hall finished third. Wanganeen-Milera and Max Hall are set to be major re-signing targets over the coming months.

Wanganeen-Milera is the AFL's first $2 million player. He re-signed last year on a two-season deal worth $4 million.

He had rejected big offers from his native South Australia to stay at St Kilda. Port Adelaide can make a play for him next year.

The Saints finished 11th this season. Hayes said the club must prove to both players that the direction under coach Ross Lyon is worth staying for.

"I'm really confident that both of those guys believe in the direction of our footy club," Hayes said.
