The pair added a 158-run partnership that carried South Australia to 508 total. South Australia's 508 total gave them a commanding 264-run first-innings lead.
Victoria were 7-175 at stumps, still 89 runs behind. McFadyen, 23, struck 21 boundaries including five sixes.
The debutant also claimed two wickets. South Australia need three more Victorian wickets to seal victory.
