Caitlin Clark backs push to keep Mitchell at Fever
In her exit talk, Clark said she wants Mitchell to stay and spoke against fans using her name for hate.
Caitlin Clark gave her exit interview after the Fever lost in the playoffs, talking about fans and keeping good players. Clark said hearing that Kelsey Mitchell felt unwelcome because of fan treatment upset her deeply.
Clark said she wanted Mitchell to stay and said they had the best season of any backcourt in WNBA history. Clark also said fans who used her name for racist talk don't show her values.
Mitchell scored 24.7 points and led the league in three-point shots at 45 percent. Clark can renegotiate her rookie contract under a new rule called EPIC for top players, but she said team building is most important.
