Jordan Mifsud wins VAFA best and fairest with record 32 votes
Mifsud set a voting record with 32 votes for the Shona McInnes Medal despite a broken finger for most of the season.
Jordan Mifsud had the season of her life in 2026 with Old Scotch in Melbourne's women's amateur league. Mifsud kicked 52 goals, the most in the competition, and won best-on-ground in three straight grand finals as the Cardinals claimed their third consecutive premiership.
On Wednesday she won the league's best and fairest award with a record 32 votes. Incredibly, she did it all while a broken finger sidelined by most other players sidelined her.
She simply strapped it and kept playing. "It was a goal of mine to win the best and fairest," Mifsud said.
After burnout ended her five-year VFLW career, returning to local footy proved the right call.
