Nationals promise $2m splash park for Bendigo Botanic Gardens
The Nationals have committed $2 million to build a splash park at Bendigo Botanic Gardens. This would happen if they win the November Victorian election.
The White Hills pool is the closest public pool for 20,000 Bendigo residents. It has been closed for several years.
Council rated it in poor condition in 2023. The splash park would add to the gardens' existing play space.
Nationals Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad said families need a cool-off spot close to home when the sun is out. The pledge is part of the Nationals' Fair Share Guarantee.
This guarantees 25 per cent of regional infrastructure funding goes to the 25 per cent of Victorians who live outside the cities. Bendigo East candidate Andrew Lethlean said it shows what a fair share means for the community.
