South Africa demolishes Namibia as Hermann equals ODI debut record

South African opener Jordan Hermann scored 150 on his ODI debut, equalling the competition record, to help his team thrash Namibia.

Hermann hit 20 boundaries and three sixes across 126 balls in South Africa's 348 runs off 50 overs on Wednesday. Hermann shared a 190-run partnership with Tony de Zorzi, who made 72.

Hermann raced from 100 to 150 in just 32 balls before being caught at cover. Hermann's score equals the record set by Matthew Breetzke last year, who also scored 150 on his ODI debut.

Namibia finished on 162 off 31 overs, chasing a reduced target after rain cut their innings short. The teams meet again on Friday at the Namibia Cricket Ground.
