Scammers are impersonating ticket sellers to defraud Knights fans ahead of Sunday's NRL grand final against the Roosters.
Fake ticket sellers are targeting Newcastle Knights fans desperate to secure seats for Sunday's grand final. One Newcastle mum, Elizabeth Milton, dodged a scam after spotting red flags: the seller's name didn't match the email, the link looked wrong, and when asked for proof, he refused.
The scammer had given out Milton's phone number to other buyers. Ticketmaster is the only official ticket reseller for the grand final.
The NRL has warned that unauthorized sellers may offer invalid tickets that will be denied at the gate.
